I found some daguerreotype images online at Deviant Art and thought I would try my hand at a Maggie Taylor inspired image.
With several composite layers and lots of refining edges I ended up with the following image. I used a number of techniques including:
- Textured layers with blend modes (the textures created from scanning)
- Scanning
- Gradient overlays
- Dodging & burning
- Free Transforms and distorts etc
- Colourisation with grey-scale (for the daguerreotype)
